  3. Who was Aphrodite?

Aphrodite showed up one day, thousands of years ago, and began appearing in myths. According to the stories that sprang up about her, she was as vain as she was beautiful, and she was very beautiful. Zeus was delighted to claim her as his daughter. Zeus gave Aphrodite the title of goddess of love and beauty.

  4. The Gods Make a Giantess Laugh So She Doesn't Kill Them All

Occasionally, Loki did prove himself to be useful for something. In one case, the gods were approached by a giantess, Skadi, whose father they'd slain, demanding vengeance. After some seriously amazing negotiating, the gods managed to convince her to take some reparations instead. The first was a husband of her choosing (though she had to choose him only by his feet); the second was memorializing her father's eyes in the stars; and the third was giving her one good, honest-to-god laugh.

This last one proved to be the most difficult. They tried and tried, but none were able to make her laugh, so at last they turned to Loki who basically said "Chill, guys, I've got this." What he did then baffles the mind. He brought in a goat and tied one end of a rope to it. Then he tied the other end of the rope to his own testicles and proceeded to have a tug of war with the goat in this way. Both goat and god screamed in pain, and finally Loki collapsed. Only then did the giantess finally laugh. So, while Loki is pretty good at getting a laugh, one must wonder: at what cost?

  5. Stop-motion was the first form of animation, and it's still used widely today. The possibilities are endless.Stop-motion is a series of pictures put together, where the scene moves a little bit each picture, to create the image that they are moving. You can make animations using clay, real people, food, and even your old toys.
    Tips:- You need :
    ● Camera, phone
    ● Tripod ( or something to hold your camera in the same position )
    ● Computer
    ● Animating program
    ● Materials needed to create your scenes and caracters (this can be paper, clay, paints, etc)
    ● Writing paper
    ● IMAGINATION

    ● Write a story. Think of an idea for your animation.
    ● Create a storyboard
    ● Create your scenes and figures

  6. Stop motion(blog 1):
1.Make the figure move ever so slightly between shots.
2.Think about what your figure will do at the beginning.
3.keep the ipad or iphone still so it doesn't ruin the film.
    Norse Myth (blog 2):
    THE 8 LEGGED HORSE:
If there was one thing that the Aesir hated, it was giants. The feeling was mutual, and it became obvious that Asgard was under a legitimate threat from giants who started fights for no particular reason.Shortly after the nine worlds were created, the nameless “master builder” showed up in Asgard. He threw down the gauntlet, claiming that he would build a giant-proof wall around Asgard in three years if marriage to Freyja was his main form of payment. For some reason, he also wanted the Sun and the Moon. The gods eventually agreed to give the master builder only one year to complete the job, no assistance but that of a workhorse, and Freyja as his only payment. It seemed like a great bargain because the gods were convinced that the task could not be completed in one year. Asgard was huge. But the builder was so highly motivated to “win” Freyja that he worked almost nonstop. So Loki decided to take charge of the situation. As proven by several myths, Loki was an adept shape-shifter. If he could turn himself into a woman, a salmon, and a hawk, he could easily turn himself into a horse. A lady horse to be specific.Loki shape-shifted into a mare and lured the giant’s workhorse from the job site. As a result, the wall was not completed when the year was up. Ultimately, Thor killed the master builder, who was a giant in disguise. Meanwhile, Loki was MIA for several months before returning with an eight-legged horse named Sleipnir.

  16. Loki thought this to be beyond the terms of their bargain, and, in anger, took up a sturdy branch and lunged at the eagle. The eagle snatched the branch in his talons, and, with a bewildered Loki still clinging to the other end, flew up high into the sky. The terrified god begged the eagle to release him, but the eagle – who was none other than Thjazi (pronounced “THYAH-zee”) the giant in disguise – refused to do so until Loki swore an oath to bring him Idun and her fruits.

When the trio made it back to Asgard at the conclusion of their travels, Loki went to Idun and told her that he had found fruits even more marvelous than her own growing in a forest beyond the walls of Asgard, and that she should follow him there and bring her own apples for comparison. Idun followed the trickster, and when she reached the wood she was borne up by Thjazi in his eagle form, and taken away to the giant’s abode. This place was called Thrymheim (“Thunder-Home”), and was situated in the highest mountain peaks, whose icy towers growled down at the fertile fields below.

In Idun’s absence, the gods and goddesses felt old age creeping up on them. Their skin became wrinkled, their hair greyed, and their vigor waned. When they assembled together and asked one another about the circumstances under which Idun was last seen, it was reported that the last sighting of her had been with Loki as the two left Asgard together. Then they seized Loki and threatened him will all manner of pains if he didn’t tell them what had happened to the fair goddess. Loki spilled his story, and the gods informed him that if he couldn’t rescue Idun from Thjazi, he would be put to death.from thinu

  18. ODIN’S DISCOVERY OF THE RUNES

The Codex Runicus, a law code written in runes (c. 1300 CE)
The Norse god Odin is a relentless seeker after knowledge and wisdom, and is willing to sacrifice almost anything for this pursuit. The most outstanding feature of his appearance, his one eye, attests to this; he sacrificed his other eye for more wisdom. The tale of how he discovered the runes is another example of his unquenchable thirst for understanding the mysteries of life, not to mention his unstoppable will.

The runes are the written letters that were used by the Norse and other Germanic peoples before the adoption of the Latin alphabet in the later Middle Ages. Unlike the Latin alphabet, which is an essentially utilitarian script, the runes are symbols of some of the most powerful forces in the cosmos. In fact, the word “rune” and its cognates across past and present Germanic languages mean both “letter” and “secret/mystery.” The letters called “runes” allow one to access, interact with, and influence the world-shaping forces they symbolize. Thus, when Odin sought the runes, he wasn’t merely attempting to acquire a set of arbitrary representations of human vocal sounds. Rather, he was uncovering an extraordinarily potent system of magic.
