Our topic this term is biomes. So far we have looked at; Deciduous,
Rainforest, Taiga and Tundra.
In the blog choose two animals and explain how you think it is suited to a
biome.
Example –
The polar bear is suited to the tundra as it has a thick fur to keep
warm. It is also suited by the white fur to blend into the white snow.
A polar bear should be used a cold biom because of its thick fur and warmth
ReplyDeleteA winter fox has even more thick fur to survive in the cold biomes as well as
The polar bear
Polar bears are suited to the Tundra biome because they can camouflage in the white background as their fur is white and fluffy like snow. They also have very thick fur which keeps them warm in the cold, if they lived anywhere else apart from the Tundra biome they would get very sweaty. Now they feel like they are in bed all the time!
ReplyDeleteChameleons are suited to the Rainforest biome because they can camouflage into any background of the Rainforest as it is very colourful, like a chameleon. They also have scaly and slimy skin to keep them dry as it rains a lot and keeps them warm in the wind. As the skin is wet like the rain they cannot feel anything on their body and the wind blows fur causing the cold to touch their skin, but the chameleon’s skin sticks to their body. So, no cold skin for them!
1.Penguins.
ReplyDeletePenguins are adapted to the Antarctic as they have a thick coat of feathers to keep them warm. Even though they aren't great at flying they can swim very well and catch fish for them to eat also there webbed feet help them walk through the snow unlike a Panda which would get very stuck in the snow.
2.Crocodiles.
Crocodiles are aquatic reptiles and are adapted to the water as they have special bony flaps in there throats so that they can breath underwater also they can eat almost all animals as it has a very strong acid in there stomach.

The red-eyed tree frog has sticky pads to climb tall trees. It's huge, bulging eyes can see in the dark rain forest. It changes to leaf green in the day and bronze at night.
ReplyDeleteBeavers have big teeth so they can gnaw wood. They use their tales to steer in water. They have thick fur to be warm in the taiga.
